Challenge
An old folk house located in scenic beauty of Onomichi, Hiroshima was renovated as a café. The owner wanted to create a space which would be open to the surrounding nature while it can be soundproofed for occasional live music events in order not to disturb the neighbors.

Solution
600 soundproofing pipes /m2 were used to create window panels.

Voice of Customer
The pipes work really well to keep the noise down. My customers love how the transparent pipes reflect the light in the evening, creating a romantic atmosphere. My current problems are insect visitors in the summer and cold drafts in winter. I’m considering installing screen nets or double doors as solutions.
